Lettuce Roquette

Rocket leaves or popularly known as arugula is nutritious green-leafy vegetable known for its bitter peppery flavour. Typically eaten raw in salads, wraps and sandwiches rocket leaves are low on calories and an excellent source of vitamin A. Arugula is most commonly consumed fresh in salads but can also be incorporated into pasta, casseroles, and sauces.

Selection
Select the fresh looking, crisp and brightly-colored rocket leaves Avoid the ones that are wilted and have dry brown area. Do not pick the ones that are spotted and slimy.
Storage
Store rocket leaves unwashed in a perforated plastic bag in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator.They should last for 2-3 days.
